The Center of Excellence in Resource Politics for Social Development in the Center for Social Development Studies (CSDS) offers research grants and mentoring to MA and PhD students studying on the MAIDS and GRID programs of the Faculty of Political Science, Chulalongkorn University. The goal of the research grant program is to support young researchers to undertake studies on resource politics for social development and to publish their work in academic journals. Funding is kindly provided by Chulalongkorn University’s financial support for the Center of Excellence.
Anthony Ukam Unor
Anthony holds a bachelor of Arts degree in English Language with a minor in International Business from the Institute of International Studies (IIS), Ramkhamhaeng University, Bangkok, Thailand. He also earned a Master of Arts Degree in Diplomacy and International Studies from the Institute of Diplomacy, Rangsit University, Pathumthani, Thailand. Presently, he is studying Ph.D. in International Development on the GRID program of the Faculty of Political Science, Chulalongkorn University.
As an ESL//TEFL teacher, Anthony served in Laos for a year and dedicated 13 years of his youthful days into serving Thailand as a TEFL cum Elementary Science teacher across Thailand.

Chol Bunnag
Chol Bunnag is a Ph.D. Student at GRIDS Program, Faculty of Political Science, Chulalongkorn University. He graduated his bachelor degree from Faculty of Economics, Thammasat University and master of arts in Development Economics from School of International Development, University of East Anglia. He is currently a lecturer at Faculty of Economics, Thammasat University. His research interests are natural resource and environmental economics, agricultural and rural development economics, as well as governance of natural resource management, and governance for achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Sara K. Phillips
Sara K. Phillips is a PhD candidate in international development studies at the Faculty of Political Science, Chulalongkorn University. Her interdisciplinary research examines issues pertaining to natural resources, sustainable development, and international trade. In particular, Sara studies the relationship of social, environmental, and governance factors related to mining in Southeast Asia.
Sara holds a specialized Master of Laws in environment from McGill University (Canada), a Juris Doctor, cum laude from Vermont Law School (USA), and a Bachelor of Arts in international affairs from the University of Colorado at Boulder (USA). She is a qualified attorney, licensed in the State of New York (USA).

Tay Zar Myo Win
Mr. Tay Zar Myo Win graduated with a Master of Arts in International Development Studies under the Faculty of Political Science at Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand. Tay Zar’s main research interests include analyzing decentralization, democratization, local governance, and public participation in politics both in Myanmar and within the wider Southeast Asian context. Tay Zar worked as a trainer for a Myanmar NGOs, facilitating and teaching in the areas of civic and voter education, democracy, and federalism, targeting youth, civil society groups, government staff, and political parties. Tay Zar went on to work as a program officer for an INGO managing multiple grants with civil society organizations to implement projects providing voter education, deeper understandings of democracy, human rights, and civic engagement towards a more inclusive governance transition in Myanmar.

Thianchai Surimas
Thianchai holds a bachelor of Social Work with second class honors from Thammasat University. He also finished a Master of Arts in Human and Social Development from Chulalongkorn University. Currently, he is a PhD student on the International Development Studies program at the faculty of Political Science, Chulalongkorn University. His research interests are on migration, sustainable livelihood, and cultural heritage and adaptation.

Wipawadee Panyangnoi
Wipawadee is an independent research keen on conducting social research to support communities and social movement. She has gained her degrees in social sciences field with 10 years of working experiences in the civil society where she has contributed both in academic research and social activism. Her working expertise is in promoting community rights to development and migration issues. During this time, she has successfully published research findings based on her proficiency.
